 | My name is Sierra Meyer. I was born on November 15, 2000, which makes me 3 years old. I was born with necrotizing enterocolitis, and after several bowel reductions, I was left with Short Bowel Syndrome. As a result, I am totally dependant on TPN (total parenteral nutrition) and Lipids. |
With all of these things being done, my body is not in such great shape. I am now on a waiting list for a liver and intestinal transplant. My family is wonderful and without the surgery, I will not get to live to see my little sister grow up. |  |
 | I've spent most of my short life in and out of hospitals. I spent the first 6 months of my life in the hospital. They told my parents that I would not ever get to leave the hospital. I've had 5 central lines and am currently on my last good vein available for central lines (that's how I get my TPN and lipids). |
With this wonderful surgery, I will have a chance to live and to possibly have my own family one day. To be given such a chance to live, when they said that I'd never leave the hospital when I was a baby and having made it this far, I don't want to stop now. |  |
 | My mom and dad are doing their best, but we need your help. There are medicines that I need that my insurance does not pay for. Any help that anyone gives will be so wonderful. You see, without this surgery, I will not live much longer. Without the expensive medications, I will not survive. I am such a happy little girl, I would like to grow up and have a chance to be a happy woman. Please find it in your heart to help me and my family. |
