About me:

I was born in Pasadena, Texas in 1944 to an Air Force Lieutenant and a former basketball champion, the first of three children. My sister resides in California, working as a bilingual school psychologist.

I attended Houston public schools through low sixth, transferring to the Kinkaid School through ninth grade, at which time I began attending Mirabeau B. Lamar High School, from which I graduated. I began my Spanish language studies at Kinkaid in the seventh grade, and continued them through college. As a senior in high school, I began to speak Spanish fluently and concurrently began Russian language studies.

My college experience began at Texas Christian University in Ft. Worth, Texas, in 1963, and continued at Georgetown University in Washington, D.C. I graduated with a B.S. in Languages, with a Spanish major and a Russian minor.

I love to spend my free time gardening and doing yardwork; I also love riding horses when I get the opportunity. Other favorite pastimes of mine include reading biographies, watching old movies, listening to classical music, and spending time at my church. My real love is singing; I enjoy singing sacred classics and hymns and performing in musicals and cantatas as well as plays.
