Appropriate Behaviour

When in conversation speak in a normal relaxed tone of voice.

Physical contact is not common during conversation in Scotland. Keep an arms length when in conversation.

Queueing and standing in line is done with respect and decorum. Conversation may take place during these occasions.

Introducing Yourself

When addresing individuals, use the last or surname with the suitable title such as Mr, Mrs or Miss. Only use the first name when personally told to.

The title Doctor is reserved for people with a medical degree.

Individuals with a Knighthood are addresed as Sir.
