Frequently Asked QuestionsWhat exactly do you teach? This isn't just a pony ride.We teach grooming and basic care of the horse before and after the lesson. This includes grooming and tacking before the lesson as well as bathing and feeding after the lesson. Riders will learn and refine the basics of hunter/jumpers and dressage or western pleasure.Since this is a summer program, we recommend 2 lessons a week to fully get the knowledge and experience desired. Over all, we want to teach the basic knowledge and safety with horses and just have a great time.
We provide the schooling horses and tack but if your one of the lucky ones and can trailor in your own horse your more than welcome. (Just bring an updated coggins test) Like we have previously mentioned, safety is our main priority. A helmet must be worn at every mounted moment. We do have helmets available but if you wish to have your own it must be a SEI certified riding helmet. Helmets and any other riding equipment can be found at a decent price at the stateline tack in the PETsMART in Southlake. The rider should wear a loose fitting breathable top and jeans or riding breeches. Boots with a slight heal are to be worn. No tennis shoes or sandles permitted. We don't want to get those toes stepped on! It is also strongly advised to bring bottled water, because it does get hot.
