Frequently Asked Questions

What exactly do you teach?

izzyThis isn't just a pony ride.We teach grooming and basic care of the horse before and after the lesson. This includes grooming and tacking before the lesson as well as bathing and feeding after the lesson. Riders will learn and refine the basics of hunter/jumpers and dressage or western pleasure.Since this is a summer program, we recommend 2 lessons a week to fully get the knowledge and experience desired. Over all, we want to teach the basic knowledge and safety with horses and just have a great time.

What does the rider need to bring?

princeWe provide the schooling horses and tack but if your one of the lucky ones and can trailor in your own horse your more than welcome. (Just bring an updated coggins test) Like we have previously mentioned, safety is our main priority. A helmet must be worn at every mounted moment. We do have helmets available but if you wish to have your own it must be a SEI certified riding helmet. Helmets and any other riding equipment can be found at a decent price at the stateline tack in the PETsMART in Southlake. The rider should wear a loose fitting breathable top and jeans or riding breeches. Boots with a slight heal are to be worn. No tennis shoes or sandles permitted. We don't want to get those toes stepped on! It is also strongly advised to bring bottled water, because it does get hot.

Why are your lessons so cheap?
There are a few reasons why. At most riding facilities, their lessons range $35-50 for a half hour private lesson wether its a ARIA certified instructor or not. This is because they have a larger facility to maintain as well as more horses to provide for. As of right now were on a 10 acre facility with a small 2 stall barn,2 wash stalls, tack shed, 2 pastures, a round pen, 1 out door dressage areana with jumps, and only 3-5 horses to provide for. However, as nice as it is already, we will be updating over the summer and with in the next year or two. Both instructors are hard working college students aspiring twards a Bachelor of Science degree in Equine Studies. We are not yet ARIA certified but will be hopefully by next summer. (This is why this is a summer program... for now)Both instructors have been under professional training for at least 10 years and are knowledgable and experienced riders and trainers.Click on the link below for more information about the instructors.
