Yes.... I Like A Good Cup of Coffee too RETIRED:

I am Retired, and have been for thirteen years now. Just recently, in August of 2002, I turned 69. I did woodwork for 10 years and really enjoyed it. I made items for children, rocking horses, rocking chairs, tables and chairs and also for the adults I made what turned out to be a good seller, A southwest bench.

Sometime during last ten years with my sons help, I became interested in the computer and about six years ago I became interested in the internet and that became addictive. I started an auction page and that required finding items to put on for sale, making auction sales and picking up collectibles when I could. This has been going on for about five years now, being alergic to saw dust. I have given up the woodwork, but on the following pages there are several thumbnail pictures of the items I built.

My earlier life is this:

I got acquainted with the Oklahoma Army National Guard at l5 years of age and really enjoyed it, so much so that I went to work for them and worked full time for l5 years as a Unit Administrative, Maintenance and Supply Technician. One of my duties was recuiting which took me to my next vocation, broadcasting.

In using Radio to recruite, I became enamoured with this facility, so much so that I left the Guard and spent the next 25 years in Radio and Television Broadcasting. Finishing this tenure in Wichita Falls, Texas and still to young to retire, I took to the Insurance field. Ten years in that, until my knees would no longer carry me.

I now have two new knees, steel and plastic. Quite an experience but otherwise I would be crippled, confined to a wheel chair or on crutches at the best. A heart attack in March of 2002 slowed me down some, but two stints in the heart has kept me going.

My private life is this: I married the "love of my life" in l95l and we are still married. Two great kids, a boy and girl, both grown and married with two children. From those two I have eight great grand kids, six granddaughters and two grand sons.

I was in The Oil Belt Senior Men's Golf Association, that I really enjoyed. We play about once every two weeks and I have met the greatest bunch of guys. I hoped one day to organize a Seniors Golf association my self. It happened! see below.

Well.... I mentioned that I would organize my own golf tour,It has happened, its called "Texoma Senior Men's golf Tour". Organization began December 2000 and our first tournament was played March 13th, 200l at Frederick, Okla. I was a little worried that we would not have enough to play in it, but my fears were unfounded. The newspaper here did a nice write-up, and the members came in by the droves. We have 125 members as of May 2001 and we are playing on 13 different courses within a 75 mile radius of Wichita Falls. It has really been a success, but it sure is a lot of work, keeping everything on an even keel, but I enjoy it. I have had two very successful years with the Texoma Senior Men’s Golf tour, and now a number of the players have wanted more. I have organzied, in additon to this tour, a Super Senior Men’s Golf Tour. This group will play on eighteen hole courses within a radius of 120 miles. I hope it progresses as well as the Texoma Group and have no reason to doubt that it will not. Play will begin in the spring of 2003.

All the fun and a great bunch of men made the time spent well worth while and now after five and half years, and a bout of illlness, I have sold my interest in the Senior golfers of the Texoma area, so once more, I am fully retired.
