AUNT MEL'S COUNTRY PLACE

COVINGTON, LOUISIANA

SUMMER/FALL ISSUE 2003

Here is the front of Chris, Lauren and Little Jake's new house.

It has been awhile since we've all been together and we were excited to see Chris, Lauren and Little Jake's new home in Covington, Louisiana.  Here we all are sitting and relaxing after a long days trip.  From left to right:  Grandpa "Big" Jake, Grandma Maggie, Da-da Chris, Great Aunt Bun, Great Uncle Pistol, Ma-ma Lauren and Little Jake, the star!

One more group photo of the family:  From Left to right, Grandma Maggie, Da-da Chris, Little Jake, Great Aunt Bun, Aunt Mel, Grandpa "Big" Jake and on front row, Ma-ma Lauren. (This picture is taken by Uncle Pistol.)

Look at our little fish!  Little Jake can really swim.  He is having a ball because Saturday morning we all went to the private pool to watch him swim.  He had a great time for his birthday! His ma-ma Lauren has been teaching him how to swim.  He liked it when Aunt Mel would go under the water.  I had to go under all the time!

Here are the proud grandparents enjoying a morning at the pool.
They said Little Jake swims so great and it was wonderful to get to see him swim for the first time!
It was so nice and cool in Louisiana, now we have to come back to Texas to the heat!

Come on Aunt Mel, lets go!  After the pool party, it's time to take a nap.
Thanks Lauren for taking me swimming and shopping, it was fun!

"Look what I got for my birthday from Grandpa "Big" Jake and Grandma Maggie," says Little Jake!
Little Jake was one proud boy to get a real mans bike.  Kids grow up really fast!
Ma-Ma Lauren and Aunt Mel took him shopping and that's what he wanted a red bike.

Chris, Lauren and Little Jake's back yard.

Here are the boys coming in from a hard days of yard work.
This picture was taken at twilight, they are muddy and tired.

First picture on left is picture of the creek that runs through their back yard.  It is so pretty!  Everyone in the neighborhood feeds the fish.  I had fun feeding the fish with Little Jake.  The second picture on the right is a picture of the rest of their back yard.  We couldn't get over how the trees were so big, tall and pretty.  Lots of shade in the evenings.  A very nice neighborhood!

Well, another trip is come and gone.  We really enjoyed our stay with my brother and his family.  It was a lot of fun and hope to go back soon.  Hope you enjoyed these photos as much as I enjoyed taking them.  Happy fall of the year, my favorite time of the year!  Looking forward to the hummingbirds coming.  Don't forget to put out your feeders for the birds.  They are cute.  Here is one more final picture, da-da's shoes and Little Jake's boots.  Thought it would be a cute way to end the page.
