Welcome to the website of the MCALLEN BASS ANGLERS
We are a small Bass Club located in the Rio Grande Valley of Deep South Texas. Our goal is to promote Bass Fishing as a Sport. We always welcome any prospective members to visit us or e-mail us at McAllen Bass Anglers for information pertaining to our club or tournaments schedules. Our Purpose is to improve our skills in catching freshwater Bass through a fellowship of friendly exchange of fishing techniques and ideas. We currently have a roster of approximately 30 members. We hold a two-day tournament each month. Tournaments are either “individual” competition, "team" or “draw” format. Members earn points based on the total weight of fish caught during each tournament, to determine the Top Six Anglers. Points are also given for showing up at meetings and at the tournaments. Awards are given at the end of the year to the Top Six anglers. In the past, the Top Six were sent to the State TABC or Federation tournament to compete on the State level. Each year in December the club decides on the awards. Some of the lakes we fish are Falcon International, Choke Canyon, Coleto Creek, Lake Corpus Christi (Mathis), RGV Lake, and occasionally Lake Amistad and Mexico lakes. We are presently not affiliated with any organizations, but have been affiliated with Texas B.A.S.S. Federation and TABC. We have fished a few of Top Sixes, including Richland Chambers, and Toledo Bend.
