Chances are that you are guilty of one of the things listed here. If so, you ought to be drug out of your car someday and bitch slapped.

First we're going to play some trivia...

Picture #1. Assume the red and blue cars are both going 30 miles per hour, and the speed limit is 35 miles per hour. Who is at fault in this scenario?

If you guessed the red car, you are correct. The LEFT lane is supposed to be a PASSING lane. The green car obviously cannot go because the red car is in his way. If you want to drag ass, that's fine. Do it in the RIGHT lane. If you're not PASSING someone, why drive 5, 10 or 15 mph under the speed limit IN THE PASSING lane? Let's have some common courtesy and be considerate of those who may be in a hurry. ======================================================

Picture #2. What's wrong with this picture?

What's wrong with this picture is that the light blue car is trying to merge onto the interstate, but can't because there is a line of cars in the RIGHT lane. Clearly there are two other lanes that these cars could move in to, so that the merging car can have some comfort to merge. How hard is it to turn your steering wheel slightly to the left so that merging traffic can get on the interstate? Once again. Let's have some courtesy and be considerate of other driver's on the road, and if you CAN move to the left to allow merging to be more comfortable, THEN DO SO!

Picture #3. Guess what this is?

If you guessed a Yield sign, you are correct! Better yet, do you know what it means? It means if there is incoming traffic you are supposed to wait for them. It means they have the right-of-way. It means that they should not have to hit their brakes or turn their wheel for you in any way. The most common occurances of ignoring yield signs are when someone is trying to exit the interstate, and the cars on the service road are supposed to YIELD, but instead they just keep right on going, causing the cars that are exiting the interstate to have to hit their brakes, which could potentially cause wrecks if the cars behind them are expecting traffic to flow smoothly. Let's get real. You know what a Yield sign is, so why don't you yield? It's not courtesy, IT IS THE LAW!

=======================================================================================

Picture #4...... what is this?

That, boys and girls, is a tail light. More importantly, that's the light that lights up whenever your TURN SIGNAL is on. What's a turn signal you ask? Well see there's this little stick thingy that comes out of the left hand side of your steering column. If you press it down, your left blinker will come on. If you pull it up, your right blinker will come on. The purpose of the blinker is so that other cars around you know which way you are planning on going. You should use this if turning OR changing lanes. If you're not sure how to use your blinker, or not sure if your car even has one, you should consult your owner's manual to your vehicle. Remember people, using your turn signal isn't a courtesy to other driver's, IT IS THE LAW!

===================================================================================

Picture #5 What does this sign mean?

It means DO NOT BLOCK THE INTERSECTION! It's not in Greek, or Japanese. It's in plain English. There's no interpretation necessary. It simply means, do not block the friggin' intersection. Below is a picture of what happens when people disregard this sign...

That means you stop BEFORE the intersection starts, if there is no room for you to sit on the OTHER SIDE of the intersection while waiting for your light to turn green. This way, if there is someone needing to go through that intersection horizontally, they're not waiting for you because your big honkin car is sitting in a traffic jam, right in the middle of an intersection. Once again, it's not courtesy, IT IS THE LAW!!

===========================================================================

Picture #6 What does this sign mean?

It means that YOU stop. It also means that if there is other traffic incoming, you stop as long as it takes for the incoming traffic to pass. Notice the little part on the bottom of the stop sign that says "INCOMING TRAFFIC DOES NOT STOP". Hmmm... ever wondered what that means? It doesn't mean it's a 4-way stop. If you live in Amarillo, TX, the most common place to see this sign is at Westgate Mall, on the loop around the mall.

Picture #7

Can you spot what's in the yellow circle?

If you said nothing, that is correct. There is no stop sign. There is no yield sign. There is no red light. That means you have RIGHT OF WAY. So why are alot of you slowing and stopping even though there's not a sign? Let me tell you something. Road signs are put in place for a reason; to direct traffic. When YOU assume you are supposed to stop or yield, you run the risk of being rear ended. NEVER ASSUME. If there's not a stop sign or yield sign, then DON'T STOP OR YIELD. It's not rocket science people. Come on.

==================================================================

Picture #8

Can you guess what this is?

If you guessed "rear view mirror" that is correct! I know this is an unfair question, and I know that many of you probably did not get this one right SINCE YOU NEVER LOOK IN YOUR REAR VIEW MIRROR! How would you know what it is? One of the very first and most important things they teach you in driver's ed is to BE AWARE OF YOUR SURROUNDINGS AT ALL TIMES! Wow! A rear view mirror is such a handy little device to aid in that process! Genius was the man who invented this item. Retarded are the people who never look in them while driving.

Picture #9

Who is at fault in this scenario?

If you guessed the orange car, you are correct! Most parking lots are designed to make parking easier (since most of you suck so bad at parking to begin with). Parking is made easier by making the yellow lines slanted so that you only have to turn your wheel slightly, and it makes parking in between the yellow lines easier. However, it also makes the lanes of driving ONE WAY, depending on the slant of the lines. There are also big white arrows to show you which way to go, and which way not to go, for those of you who are too thick headed to understand the way it works. And yet there are still some of you who are so retarded, that you don't understand the white arrow OR the lines, and go the wrong way anyways, often causing traffic jams in the parking lot, or having to uncomfortably squeeze through a tight space.

Picture #10

What do you see here?

If you guessed nothing, you are WRONG. What's actually here is a car, but you can't see it because it doesn't have it's head lights on. It doesn't have it's head lights on because the idiot driving it got his driver's license out of a cracker jack box. One little note: If it's dark outside, TURN YOUR HEADLIGHTS ON. If it's dark outside, and you happen to notice one or two cars flash their headlights at you, you might want to make sure your HEADLIGHTS are on. If you don't know how to turn them on, consult your car's owner's manual. On second thought, take your driver's license back to the DMV and sell your car because you are too stupid to drive it.

==========================================================================

Picture #11

What's wrong with this picture?

What's wrong with this picture is that the red car stopped and didn't move fully into the turning lane to make his turn, thus causing the cars behind him to have to stop as well. The turning lane is there FOR THE PURPOSE of allowing you to move out of traffic's way so that you can stop and turn when the road is clear. Why pull half way into the turning lane and disrupt traffic behind you when all you have to do is pull fully into the lane? IT'S NOT BRAIN SURGERY!

========================================================================================

Picture #12

What is this?

This is one of the biggest reasons there are so many stupid drivers not paying attention these days. I can't count the times I've swerved to avoid a wreck only to look at the other driver and see them on a cell phone. Talking on a cell phone while driving is illegal in many states, while it is still legal in Texas at this point, that doesn't give you an excuse to drive like an idiot. It's simple, if you're brain is unable to handle driving and talking at the same time, then don't do both at once! Just stay at home and talk on your phone, and leave the driving to those of us who actually pay attention!

=========================================================================================

Other points to ponder...

1. Did you know that just because a traffic light is red, it doesn't necessarily mean you can't go? That's right! If you are turning right, it's legal to actually go through the light, even if it's red, so long as there isn't a sign that says "No turn on red". Wow!

2. Don't you hate how you're waiting in a long line of traffic at a stop light, then the light turns green, but turns red again right as you approach it? I'd say you could fit at least twice as many cars through a green light if people would just GO! Don't sit there and let there be 2, 3, 10 car lengths between you and the car ahead of you. Squeeze up tight so that the cars in the back of the line don't have to wait through another red light. If this is too much to fathom, just remember, GREEN MEANS GO! GREEN MEANS GO! GO! GO! GO! GO! GO!

Many of the things illustrated in this website are simple every day things that most of you should know. They are things that are taught to you in driver's ed. In a nutshell, almost all of these problems can be avoided by doing two things...

1. Pay attention. Be aware of your surroundings at all times>

2. Be courteous. Don't get mad when other drivers don't show you courtesy on the road, because you're not showing courtesy to anyone either.
