Buffy the Vampire Slayer
XBOX EA June 1 Player;
Buffy's Xbox game looks sharp ,play smooth and stays
true to the Slayer's likeable combination of wit and
bravado. Although she tends to crack wise fairly often,
the dialogue is unusually fresh and inventive--a testament
to the quality of the innovative TV show the game is based
on. Giles make an appearance during the detailed tutorial,
which guides Buffy through the basic platforming elements
of thegame, simple puzzle-solving and some initial skirmishes
with demonic entities. The real meat of the game, however,
lies in the meneuverability of Buffy during her Final Fight
against hordes of the undead. The game is still eraly in
development, but looks solid, with plenty of familiar faces
and places to woo the buffy fan along with fun and challenging
gameplay to sway the rest.

Lost Kingdoms
GAMECUBE June 1-2 Players
If you're a hardcore role playing game fan, tou probably don't own a GameCube yet.
The fact is, much like the early days of N64, the GameCube does not have what you
would recall a traditional RPG title yet. In comes Lost Kingdoms to the rescue!.
Activision picjed up the U.S. publishing rights to Lost Kingdoms from From Software,
the same folks who put out the King's Field RPG series. Lost Kingdoms uses an intricate
card-based system called Guardian Creature Cards. Players can collect and upgrade over
100 Creature Cards that are used to summon a whole pen of fantastic creatures during
battle. Some creatures include skeletons, wolves and fire-breathing dragons, to name a few.
You assume the role of Princess Katia as you explore the five expansive kingdoms of Argyle.
Princess Katia and her Guardian Creatures will gain new abilities as she discovers new
cards along the way. A two-player versus mode is also included, where you can see who
has the toughest deck of cards.
