 Well,
as you know my name is Jennifer and I am 22 years old. My birthday is
December 16, which makes me a Sagittarius for those of you who follow
the zodiac. I live in the USA just outside of San Antonio, Texas.
Currently I am finishing graduate school, where I am earning a degree in
Reading Education with hopes to teach middle school reading. I am
already a certified teacher for Early Childhood through 4th grade, but I
decided to postpone teaching until I earned my Master's degree. Once
that's earned I will be able to teach my favorite grades, 5th-6th.
Therefore, I am very interested in books and reading in general.
Especially finding ways to creatively include literacy in classrooms and
encourage children and young people to read for enjoyment.
I am also very interested in travel, foreign lands, and culture. One
of my greatest regrets is that I never had the chance to study abroad.
Earning a degree in education hindered that dream because my University
would not have accepted any foreign credits in education. *Sigh* Oh
well. I suppose one can't have it all. But I am still trying to think of
ways to get myself overseas, lol. I've thought about volunteer work such
as the Peace Corps, or teaching English overseas in one of the numerous
international schools. In the meantime I love to communicate with people
from other countries to gain insight, knowledge, and new friends!
Other information about me...I love reading as I mentioned above. I'm
crazy about books, bookstores, etc. I also love writing. My MAIN goal
(even more than becoming a teacher) is to be a published author. That
would truly be a dream come true. I am also very interested in history,
computers (e-mail, internet, games), traveling, museums, tennis,
swimming, watching TV shows/movies, music, road trips,
fantasy/mythology, time travel, animals/nature, religion (I'm Roman
Catholic), relaxing, and learning new things!
I'm an only child, but I surround myself with numerous pets whom I
adore! I currently have 3 cats (Nemo, Annie, and Leo) and 1 dog (Jorja).
They each have their own distinct personality and are very entertaining.
I also love rodents and would love to have a rat or gerbil, but that
will have to wait for now.
