Be a Combat Lifesaver

The
combat lifesaver course is a bridge between the self-aid/buddy-aid training given to soldiers during basic training and the training given to a combat medic. The combat lifesaver is a non-medical soldier trained to provide emergency care as a secondary mission. When he has no combat mission to perform, the combat lifesaver assists the combat medic, provides far-forward care and prepares casualties for evacuation.

The combat lifesaver course is offered through correspondence, using the group-study mode. In addition to the self-study portion, trainees must complete hands-on training conducted by qualified personnel at their home stations.

The hands-on portion has been revised and reduced from five to three days of group training time. On the first day, soldiers must successfully complete all self-aid/buddy-aid tasks before being tested on advanced skills on the following two days. The course also can be modified based on needs, abilities and resources of each group.

The lessons are in Adobe Acrobat .pdf format,
and you must download them individually and
save (printing is recommended) so that you can study for the classes.
