.Help Me Adopt My Children Help Us

Lord in Heaven, Father who created Heaven and earth and who has bestowed upon us a grace which is infinitely more than we deserve, if our cause is righteous in Your sight, please direct those who may help us to this page and convict them of our truthfulness and of a desire to aid us. In Your Son's Name, Amen.

This is not an intricate website; the purpose is simply to share our story. I cannot divulge many details for fear that those involved may find this site. I will be upfront that I am looking for help. Whether you can provide this help through a small donation, through legal aid, or simply by pointing us in the right direction, any offers will be appreciated.

I understand that there are many frauds and deceivers on the internet. If you are not sure of the truthfulness of this site, please take a moment to ask the guidance of the One who created you. If He does not convict you to help us, I urge you to move on.

I am the step-mother of two young children, and the biological mother of two more. I love all of my children dearly, and it is on the behalf of my two step-children that I ask for help. Their mother, my husband's first wife, has essentially abandoned them. When the oldest was not even two, she walked out on her family to be with a new man. Though she occasionally makes contact, and though her own family shows interest in the children, she rarely calls and even more rarely visits. She does not pay her court-ordered child support, and a warrant has been issued for her arrest. Most recently we have learned that she has moved out of the country. She did not tell her children goodbye.

I went through a similar trauma as a young child. My parents divorced when I was 3, and my father was rarely in my life. His absence was very painful for me, but his occasional interuptions of my life -- suddenly calling or appearing after months away -- those were the hardest. I do not wish for my children to feel this same heartache.

Already my young step-daughter is showing signs of this trauma. She begins crying randomly, asking why her mother did not say goodbye. She laments that she "forgot" to ask for her mother's phone number so that she could call her. Her cries are truly heartbreaking. But there does not seem to be anything we can do for her. While we have found a free counseling service to speak with her, we feel that there is a further step we must take.

While we hate to sever their mother's rights, we feel that she has already removed herself from the children. To prevent further damage and allow them the ability to choose, in the future, whether to have contact with their mother, we wish to have her parental rights terminated. At that time, I will adpot the children. We feel that this course of action is the only way to allow the children to grieve the loss of their mother and move on.

Our lawyer has informed us that this process may cost anywhere from 3 to 8 thousand dollars. While we are not destitute, this sum is far beyond our means. We are not even sure where to turn for help with this matter, so we turn to you, the internet public. If you know of a lawyer or legal service in Texas who can help us, if you know of a charity that might be willing to take our case, or if you yourself may be willing to make a small donation to our legal fund, we would praise the Lord for your assistance.

While I cannot provide our name and address due to the nature of this case -- my husband's ex-wife may not come home to see her children, but she may come back with the sole intent of thwarting our efforts -- I can offer this email contact form to those who wish to help:
