Charge of the Goddess
Oh Gracious Goddess, Lady of the Night and of the Earth,
You have given us so much.
With your body, you have given us a home
A shelter to protect our bodies
Food to nourish our physical forms.
Your Guidance has allowed our Souls to grow.
You show that love is the greatest power of all.
Love will allow us to prevail.
Yet, there is no dark without the light.
Even in night, your light penetrates the darkness.
You are the Maiden, Mother, and the Crone.
The nurturer as well as the destroyer.
I ask you now, with your great wisdom,
Give me guidance in my workings.
So that I may take the right path.
Give me the ability to carry out my wishes,
So that I may reach my goal.
Please, Great Goddess, I bid you come to my circle.
Charge of the God
Great Shining God of the day, and of the skies,
With the Goddess, you have given us life.
Your rays nourish the body of the Goddess,
Allowing the plants and animals to live and grow.
Each year, as you leave us for the Summerland,
We mourn you passing but rejoice that you will return.
With your compassion, you understand who we are.
With your patience, you give us faith that we will succeed.
You are caring father to your children,
A loving husband to the Goddess.
With your wisdom, pleas come to my circle,
Help give strength to my magickal workings,
And ensure protection for this circle.
