Today's News

We're finally updated once again! Welcome back to the official Troop 621 website, or welcome if this is your first visit. These are hectic times for the internet portion of the troop, as the webmaster has a tight schedule due to high school football and swim team. We can't say for sure how much the page you are reading right now will be updated, but check periodically the calendar and photo pages for updates.

Speaking of the photo page...we're making some great strides! A special thanks goes out to Ryan A., who has been working hard to get the pictures of from Tom Hale. Many of these are currently up. You can view them by clicking on the link to the photo page on the menu on the left side of the page. No word yet on when Philmont photos will be up, as we have yet to recieve any for posting. If anyone that went to Tom Hale this summer is reading this, please write us a brief summary of what went on at Tom Hale and send it to bsa621@yahoo.com. It will be greatly appreciated. Also, if any of the Scouts who are reading this went to Philmont this summer, please write us up your personal reflections on Philmont and send it our way, to the same adress above.

Congratulations to all Scouts and Scoutmasters who advanced in the Order of the Arrow at the Fall Ordeal! On Friday, August 17, Assistant Scoutmaster Chris N., Assistant Senior Patrol Leader Hunter N., Andy N., and Chaplain Aide Lenny R. went on a Brotherhood walk at Camp Pirtle, advancing in rank from Ordeal to Brotherhood. Congratulations! Over the weekened, Committee Member Leonard R., Dillon S., Seth H., Jared M., Justin R., Patrick B., and Matt E. all sealed their membership in the Order and the Tejas Lodge by stepping up from Ordeal Candidate to Ordeal Membership. Way to go! WWW.

At the pizza planning party a week before last Tuesday's meeting, ASPL Hunter N. proposed creating a unit of OA members from 621 that will attend Tejas Lodge functions, and sometimes attend OA meetings. If you are an OA member and are interested, please send us an email or give Hunter a call. Also, on Saturday, September 15, two weeks from today, Hunter will be holding a workday to earn the Music merit badge and groom new webmasters. If you are interested, once again, please email us or call Hunter up.

In Troop 621, many of our Scouts keep going on until they at last earn the right to fly with the eagles, achieving the highest rank in Scouting, Eagle Scout. Another member of the troop is ready to spread his wings and fly. That person is Lenny R., and he needs your help. On Saturday, September 22, and Saturday, September 29, Lenny will carry out an Eagle service project. We don't have the specifics yet, but if you can, make plans to be there. We will have more information about this soon, and you will hear about it at Troop meetings. Rock on Lenny!

Also, you've probably noticed a change in the music today. That's right. We changed the background music from "Ironman" by Black Sabbath to "Freebird" by Lynyrd Skynyrd, another 621 theme. We hope you enjoy it...so crank the volume up!

Thanks for coming by, and please be sure to come back again soon.
