Eligibility
1. Youth member of TLBGCA.
2. Must have been a member (dues paid) by October 1st of the preceding year.
3. Graduating high school senior.
4. Must have participated in some activities (shows, sales, field days, etc.) sponsored by TLBGCA.
5. Must have participated in the CCISD/NASA Texas Longhorn project.

Application Requirements
1. The applicant must be a graduating senior or a mid-term graduate from an accredited high school or approved home school curriculum. Failure to graduate in the spring semester following receipt of the scholarship will result in forfeiture of the scholarship award.
2. Applicants must enroll in either a college or university in the fall semester following the award of the scholarship. Failure to enroll in the fall semester after graduation will result in forfeiture of any right to the scholarship award.
3. Each applicant must submit a 500 word (typed or hand-written) essay. The essay should describe why an education is important to the applicant and what the applicant plans to do for a career and why.
4. Each applicant must furnish a copy of a recent report card, evidence of full-time student status, proof of grade level and a copy of a transcript, with GPA, from the high school attended.
5. Each applicant must submit one letter of recommendation from a teacher or community leader and one from a Registered Texas Longhorn Breeder.

All complete applications will be considered, regardless of the applicants socio-economic status, race, color, sex, religion, national origin or disability. Recipients will be selected by the Scholarship Committee of TLBGCA and shall be chosen based upon the applications received. Failure of a student awarded a TLBGCA Leadership Scholarship to comply with the scholarship rules as stated herein shall automatically constitute forfeiture of the scholarship monies. Scholarship payment will be made by check to the appropriate college or university.

Completed applications must be submitted to the TLBGCA Scholarship Committee at the address shown on the application by the submittal date shown on the application.
