The cemetery in Sinton is aligned so that all the graves face east. When cemeteries are arranged in this manner, the dead face east. This is said to symbolize their readiness for the Resurrection. While visiting the cemetery in Sinton, Texas, we discovered some old and special plots and grave markers:
There are two side-by-side graves that each have a separate head stone and a full-length concrete grave mound cover. Shards of different color glass are pressed into the surface of the concrete.
This marker is a standard "German Texas" grave plot with a headstone and separate concrete grave mound covers. The white gravel within the concrete curbing is also traditional. If one looks closely, you can see that the plans growing with the curbing are cacti. There are several varieties indicating that it was planted there on purpose.
