Success Stories

The VSC Computer Lab has provided training to over 2000 youths through the JOVEN program. JOVEN (Juvenile Outreach Vocational Education Network) offers after school and summer programs to school age youths, providing them with activities to help them grow physically, emotionally, educationally, and spiritually. We have provided training in Reading, Writing, Math, Spelling, Typing, Internet, Computers, and much more. In concert with JOVEN, we have helped in the development of these youths, and given them a productive alternative to going home to empty houses, or playing in the streets.

We have provided ACT, SAT and TASP College training to a number of youths. Last year alone, we helped 8 students who were accepted into colleges/universities. That is an impressive number, considering the College graduation rate in South San Antonio is an abysmal .01%.

We have provided Computer Skills training, including MS Windows (R), MS Word (R), MS Excel (R) and Power Point (R) to over 50 students, who took these skills and procured employment.

We recently completed a 4 week intensive training course for the City of San Antonio, providing training to 15 young men and women who had completed high school, but lacked the skills to find meaningful employment. We provided Computer Skills training, and Library Training, and upon completion, these students were put to work in San Antonio Libraries.

In our short existence, we have provided training to over 2500 students, and look forward to the next 2500.
