General Information

Here it is! Or as Liesel used to say: "Tadaaa!"

Thanks for the digital camera, guys. I still like my Leicaflex and Leica M3, but in the digital age, I can't wait for Kroger to develop the pictures. I need the time to learn how to work a web page. It's easy for you youngsters. It ain't easy for me! Since I'm not a webmaster, I'm using a Microsoft template. The categories are all set up and I fill in the blanks.

What I plan to do, is to keep you up to date with current pictures, and then go back through the old photo albums and especially the slides and get those also included. So, I'm working with the hp 2.1 MP camera, the hp OfficeJet G55 printer-scanner-copier, and then I still need to get the thingamajig that does the slides. And every now and then I'll include a story for the family record, because you guys get things screwed up over time.

If things don't work with this webpage as you expect, blame Bill Gates at Microsoft...

Which 'Marx Family' ?

The last time I did a computer search on 'Peter Marx', a gazillion listings came up on google.com. For all those, whose faces do not show up in the following photographs, I want to state briefly that we are the family that has it's immediate ties to Koeln-Koenigsforst in Germany (since the 1940's) and to the Diocese of Corpus Christi, Texas since 1934. I am Peter Marx, one in a long list of Peter Marxes. The other key figure, besides Annette LaRocque Marx, is Bishop Adolph Marx, who left Cologne in 1934, was ordained a Priest in Corpus Christi around 1942/1943, became Auxiliary Bishop in Corpus Christi in 1956, then the first Bishop of Brownsville, Texas in 1965, but unfortunately died a few weeks later while attending the Second Vatican Council.

The Local Group

Still confused? Annette LaRocque was kind enough to marry me in 1971. Our oldest child was Liesel, born in Lewiston, Maine, in 1972. Then came Bridget, born in Webster, Texas, in 1977, and then Tyson, also born in Webster, Texas, but in 1980. As I said before, I'm Peter Marx, born in Breslau, Germany, in 1942, and referred to by Tyson as the 'Forrest Gump with Umlaut'.
