2002 World Series Champs
(Left to right) Troy Glaus and Jackie Autry; Garret Anderson holds the World Series trophy; Darin Erstad, Alex Ochoa, Tim Salmon, Scott Spiezio and David Eckstein celebrate their victory.

Who woulda thought? The Angels are champs. If I were to say that 7 months ago, I woulda been laughed at. But now one said that, because if you're like me you picked them to finish last in the west.

The Angels became just the second wild card team to win the World Series, after defeating the Giants 4-1 in game 7. The Giants had the series wrapped up in game 6, with a 5-0 lead in the 6th inning, but enter the monkey! The Angels rallied to win 6-5 and take it to a decisive game 7. Troy Glaus' 3 home runs, 8 RBI, and 385 average earned him the Series MVP.

Game 7 was followed by a huge celebration in the infield which included everyone from David Eckstein to Bud Selig to Jackie Autry. Congrats to the Angels, the best team won.
