Was never fully sure why
Never really knew what was missing

I grasped at earthly pleasures
Hoping something would fill the hollowness
Thought I could make it on my own
Still wanted to make you happy
But didn’t know how or what
Didn’t understand that alone I would always fail
Would not ask for Your help, would not admit I am weak
Bound to always fall short of your plan
I stumbled through life thinking I was alone
Never quite knowing which way to go
Your grace finally brought me to where I needed to be
What I was missing finally was clear
Your light shined deep into my darkness
And then I knew why I needed Your love
