Photos Of North Point
Welcome to the North Point Photo Album. Here you will find pictures of the place we call home. Remember that many of these photos are very old and not of the best quality. When I could I used several different programs to enhance the photos. I'm always looking for more photos especially if they are different from those already posted. If you can help identifying buildings or places I welcome your comments. I hope everyone enjoys the album.

I served at North Point 1958-59. I was a corporal and was in the 588 MP company and was a dog handler. I live in NJ.
I would like to hear from anyone who was in the 588 MP company during that time period 1958-59.

I served from 77 to 80 with SGT Jack Archer and we are close friends today in fact we are brothers. My CO was Capt. Craig Johnston Capt. Vickie merryman. My OIC was 1LT Kerrie Edwards. Our 1SG was Hanes. Other officers and NCOs were SFC Robert Owenby, SFC Francis Sidley, SFC Forrest Guest, SFC Edward Clark. There was also 1Lt Thomas Kelly, 1Lt. Dingle, 1Lt Marie Polo. I know many more but I was assigned to head up the re-enlistment, crime prevention, Safety, and teaching First aid and CPR. The main Job was Drug and Alcohol abuse program. 1Lt York was over second platoon and I believe XO. I hope this help bridge this time period. I later attended seminary and received my PHD and served as a chaplain with the USA AVR. One other unforgettable officer was Joe Kamide pLT LDR of the 3rd platoon

I served at North Point from mid 1955 to November, 1957. The unit at that time was the 15th Ordnance Battalion with the Military Police unit designated as Company B. The weapons unit was designated Company A. Originally, we lived in Kirchembolanden and commuted to North Point. While nobody acknowledged it, the nuclear warheads for Honest John Missiles and atomic cannons were stored and serviced at North Point during this entire period. We transported these warheads by truck and helicopter to various units around Germany.

I served with the 558th MP Company from 1977-1979 under Lt. Lee and remember my roommates Glenn Stearns, Lance Sandry and Bill Kilmartn like it was yesterday. 4 and 8 hour tower dury tours and racking out in the SAT and BAF shack. Maria Polo was one of my drill sergeants at Ft. McClellan Alabama.
