riding program and would like to receive credit for the class, are
encouraged to register for ANSC 3309.

Courses taught at Texas Tech University in Therapeutic Riding:
ANSC 3309: Principles of Therapeutic Riding
This course is
an interdisciplinary overview of therapeutic riding with a primary
emphasis
on using the horse as therapy. Students will learn through lecture
taught
by Dr. Heidi Brady and therapists involved in the laboratory therapy
sessions.
In laboratory the students have the opportunity to work with many
wonderful
children, along side many well trained instructors and therapists.
Speech
therapy, physical therapy and occupational therapy is the primary focus of
each
laboratory session. This course gives students a magnificent opportunity
to explore the health sciences, as well as animal science. No previous
equine
experience is required. This course is a life changing experience!
ANSC 4001: Advanced Therapeutic Riding/Special Problems
Prerequisite: ANSC
3309. As a continuation to ANSC 3309,
many students return to
assist in laboratory sessions.
ANSC 5001: Advanced Therapeutic Riding/Special Problems
This course is
designed for graduate students interested in assisting
in the therapeutic riding
lab.
