Two Cuties!
After 13 years, I left the field.  I know, I said I would never do that...something about the district office having no windows.  However...the time was right and the job was right...a ranger's gotta do what a ranger's gotta do.  Of course, about 2 minutes after reporting for my first day of work, I got called up for Hurricane Rita disaster relief- which is when I found out that Ranger=exempt, lots of overtime.  Outdoor Recreational Planner=NOT exempt, which means less OT.  Curses! Foiled again!

There's something mind-bending about driving around a disaster zone- a dash of "Boy, I am so glad this did not happen to ME!" and a big heaping dose of "I bet these people thought they'd never end up with a tree in their living room".  You never know when you're going to end up living in the FEMA trailer of life, if you know what I mean.

I have to say, I was proud of our Blue Roof work.  The work we were doing meant that a lot of people could stay in their own homes, and since living quarters were scarce down there that was important business.

My new cubicle, however, does have no windows. If I want to see the sky, I have to go outside- or at least down to Real Estate, on the 2nd floor.  They have windows...the view is of a gorgeous parking lot.

Movies I've Seen:
The Devil Wears Prada; Over the Hedge

Where you can go to see what goes on in my mind:
RangerGrrl's Lair!

What I am up to when not at work:
Trying to update this website.  Cooking and baking.  Reading books. Playing with the Messy Monsters.  Plotting to take over the world.  Shopping for clothes to replace my rangerwear.  Trying to organize the casa.
