My name is Jann and this is my first home page. I'll be adding more as the days go by. I live in Texas with my husband, Bob, and my grandson, Quincy. We are retired, enjoy fishing, camping and traveling. We also have a mobile home park.
My husband has been in several other countries. He has been employed with Kerr McGee Oil Co in the southern most part of Argentina, where I joined him. Completing the tour of duty there, we decided to go to Anchorage, Alaska.
Now we are going to the most northern area of the states. We have never seen a more gorgeous, scenic, site, breath taking, to say the least ! While there, we visited everything we possibly could. Living across the Cook Inlet. Hubby was fortunate enough to come home quite often. This is the time we spent driving as far as we could. One of our bush pilots (pilots that flew our crews into location to work) would fly us to see things that roads couldn't get too. This was something to see.
Ok, above are pictures of several oil fields. The crew and rig in the second picture was made on the deepest oil well in the world (25,434 ft.), at that time. In 1957 Phillips Pet. Co. was the company their rig was located in Ft. Stockton, Tex. My husband was in the first row, center. The third picture, is just to let you see a pump jack on the well after the well is completed.
I've located an oil well rig, it's a live shot. We took the picture on location at the time they were drilling.
A little bit about the country where we live and the
reason for my colors. The soil is very sandy very few trees. We have small
amounts of rain, therefore, it's so dry and the
winds blow the sand into a big sand storms.
Andrews county was the number one oil producing county in Texas at the time this picture was taken. This is mostly oil and gas wells in this area. Everything is oil related. The people are all wonderful here. Actually, I did forget our Ranchers, there's quite a few in this area. Now you have some idea as to where I live, hopefully, I'll add more pictures, to my page very soon.

I have a new adventure I've been learning to do. The past few months a
close friend and I decided to try our luck at writting a newsletter on line. It's
been several months now and we are still very excited about it.
Since learning a few things about the internet, web-pages yes, and chat rooms,
this has been even more interesting.
I'm back, it's very cold here today on
this Dec. 30. 2001. One more day and we'll have a brand new year from which to
build. We'll have to finish the unfinished we didn't have time to finish,
because I personally think the years are getting shorter LOL. It
just may have something to do with my age, I'll leave it at that, if you please
!! LOL
The football play offs are keeping us on our toes as to
which shall we yell for!!
I'll be right back the 4th quarter is here.
1/21/2002
I'm back, nooo the 4th quarter didn't last
that long.LOL I've been very busy and just getting back to my page. My
friend, Willow (Co editor of our time_for_the_news) and I have started preparing
for a "Big Senior Com Reunion"!!
It's looking very promising from the many
e-mails we've received.
Our date has been chosen for Feb. 2, 2002 and hopefully will continue each month
as the members wish. So be prepared and come along with us.
More details will follow.
I'm very sorry, our newsletter will
be down
