Williams Creek Cemetery is located 5.5 miles due south of La Grange, Fayette County, Texas. Williams Creek Cemetery was known as The Bluff Cemetery until it's name was changed in 1912.

"Williams Creek Cemetery is situated on the northeast corner of Block 81, Fayette County School Land, about 5.5 miles due south of La Grange.

Prior to the establishment of the cemetery, the local people buried their dead on their own land. When the cemetery was designated, some remains were removed from the farm and placed in the new burial grounds. Peter and Rosina Laux, Gustav A. Mensing, Theodor Merrem, Alma Merrem, George T. Fietsam, Klara J. Fietsam, and Frederike Hinze were moved from the homeplace to the cemetery. One or more of those graves could have been moved to the cemetery in 1879, 1880 or before June 1881, but the first known burial was that of Alfred Munke who died 11 Jun 1881."
