Featured Speaker: Jim Burke

Sunday September 26, 4:00 - 6:00 pm

September’s meeting will be a dynamic experience in learning and literacy as Jim Burke, author of numerous bestselling books, introduces his latest work, School Smarts: The Four Cs of Academic Success.

Every student wants to succeed in school, but not all students know what it takes to achieve that success. School is, for many students, like a foreign country, one with complicated, unfamiliar rules and conventions.

After teaching kids at all levels for nearly twenty years, Burke has identified the "Four Cs" of academic success and he will talk about how he uses these principles to be a more effective teacher. While the Four Cs apply to students, they also have powerful implications for teachers, administrators, counselors, and, of course, parents.

Burke will discuss what the Four Cs are and how they apply to teaching, learning, and literacy.

Other books by Jim Burke include:

You will not want to miss this wonderful learning opportunity! And as a special bonus, everyone who registers for this session with Jim will receive a copy of School Smarts: The Four Cs of Academic Success.
