This web site was created as a compliment to the Texas-Autism-Advocacy yahoo e-group list. Here you will find a collection of messages from the archives, information on other families in your area to help you network with those near to you, information on financial assistance, conferences and meeting dates, special announcements, and links that members have recommended. Enjoy this web site, but don't forget to join the list.

NOTE: MEMBERS I NEED YOUR E-MAILS IN THE NEXT FEW WEEKS TO BE INCLUDED IN THIS SITE. WE ARE LOOKING FOR:
A SHORT BIOGRAPHY (see example) TO HELP NETWORK FAMILIES TOGETHER IN SIMILAR GEOGRAPHIC AREAS, YOUR FAVORITE LINKS, CONFERENCES AND MEETING TIMES, ARCHIVE TOPICS, FINANCIAL RESOURCE ADVICE, AND ANY OTHER ADVICE OR SUGGESTIONS FOR PAGES OR TOPICS (autismzone@yahoo.com).
This is not only your/our list but will be a great resource for future Texas families.

This list is for people wanting to share information or get information about interventions for autism and related disabilities in Texas. Professionals, parents, and students are welcome; as well as disability/advocacy related organizations. The list may be used for:

1. Networking to find services for a child.
2. Discussion of various intervention strategies:
educational, medical, therapeutical, and others
relating to the needs of a child with autism.
3. Announcement of upcoming conferences or meetings,
new books available, etc.
4. Posting contact information and sample letters to
Texas legislatures and information on policies that
affect our children.
5. Posting of Action Alerts and professional business
services related to disabilities and how parents can
benefit or join the cause.

This list's goal is to connect all the groups in Texas together through the Internet to provide a valuable resource base to share information and to aid in letter writing campaigns to ensure that our children
with autism spectrum type disorders receive the best education and services and medical treatment possible.
