V- Stitch  Bottle Covers{Lyn's Designs}
Materials:
4ply yarn, 1 oz baby blue, ½ oz. Variegated 
{for 4 oz.size it uses less yarn}
G Hook
1 elastic hairband

With blue yarn ch 4 , sl st to join.
Row 1: ch 2, put 12 hdc into ring , join.
 
Row 2: ch 2, 2 hdc in each st around ,join .(24)
 
Row 3: ch 1, 1 sc in each st around—backloop (this rnd only), 
 join.
  
Row 4: ch 2, 1 hdc in each st around,  ,join.
 
Row 5: ch 2, 1 hdc in each st around , join.
 
With varigated:
Row 6: ch 3, 1 dc in same sp,* skip 2, V-st in next st,  skip 
2,* repeat around (8 V-sts). join.

with Blue:
Row 7-9: ch 2, 1 hdc in each st around including center of V-st. join.

with varigated:
Row 10: V-st around (repeating rnd 6).  join.

with Blue:
Row 11-13: ch 2, 1 hdc in each st around . join.

with varigated:
Row 14: V-st around (repeating rnd 6).join.

with Blue:
Row 15 :ch 2, 1 hdc in each st around. join.
Row 16:  slip elastic band over bottom of piece worked,  
up to the row you are working on now, then sc over the 
band around. join.
 
Ruffle, blue:
Rnd 1: Ch 3, 2 dc in same sp, * 2 dc next, 3 dc next , around.
join.

Rnd 2: Ch 3, * sc next st, ch 3, sc next st, repeat from *  around. 
join.  end off.
 
Optional:  ch 30 and make a matching tie for the top of cover.

For the 4 oz. Bottle.  work pattern up to Rnd 9,  then slip the 
elastic band on and sc over the band, all the way around.  
Then complete the rows for the ruffle.
**Note**    V-St  is;   {1 dc-ch1-1dc all in same space}.
