F Hook
8 oz. Baby Soft Yarn

Ch 102 --
V-st in 5th ch from hook, * sk 2 sts, V-st in next st, repeat 
* around, 1 dc in last st. 
ch 4, turn.  V-st in first V-st and V-st in center of ea V-st 
across. dc in last st.
3-5:  repeat row 2. (5 rows of V-sts)
  
6.  ch 4, turn.  V-st in first 3 V-sts, * sk nenxt V-st, 9 tr in 
next V-st, (shell made). sk next V-st, V-st in next 3 V-sts, 
 __repeat * across. end with V-st in last 3 V-st and a tr in 
turning ch at end.  (5 shells).
7. ch 4, turn.   V-st in first 3 V-sts, * ch 4, sc in center of 
next shell , ch 4, V-st in next 3 V-sts __ repeat * across. end 
with 1 tr in turning ch at end. 
 
8.  ch 4, turn.  V-st in first 3 V-sts,  * shell in next sc, V-st in 
next 3 V-sts, __ repeat * across. tr in turning ch at end.

9-49: repeat , alternating rows 7 & 8 for pattern.  end with a 
row like row 7 .
50:   ch 4, Vst in next 3 V-sts, * V-st in next ch-4 sp, V-st 
in next sc, V-st in next ch-4 sp, V-st in next 3 V-sts.  repeat 
* across. tr in turning ch at end.
 
 51-55: ch 4, V-st in center of ea V-st across.   end off.
 
Edging:
attach yarn in corner.  ch 1, sc same sp.
* sk next sp, 9 tr in next sp (shell).....work evenly spaced around 
the edge of blanket.
