Sweetheart Roses Preemie Cap{Lyn's Designs}
{this fits a 2-3 lb preemie with a 10" head}
Materials:
½ oz. Sport weight/baby yarn in white
small amount light green
small amount soft pink
F Hook
...............................

with white     Ch 4, sl st to form a ring.
 
Rnd 1: ch 2, 12 dc into the ring. join.
Rnd 2: ch 2, 2 dc in each st around, join.
Rnd 3: ch 2, 1 dc in same sp, * 1 dc in each of next 2 sts, 2 dc in next st, 
repeat * around. join.
Rnd 4-9: ch 2, 1 dc in each st around. join.
Rnd 10: ch 2, 1 dc front post st in each st around. join. end white. 
 
BRIM
Rnd 11: attach light green yarn,  ch 3,  turn, ( you are now working the 
brim in a different direction) and dc in same sp as chain, * sk 2 sts, V-st 
in next st, and repeat from * around. join. end green.
**note... a V-st is {1 dc, ch 1, 1 dc all in same st}.
 
Rnd 12:  attach soft pink in center of a V-st, ch 2, do a  cluster st  in same
st using only 2 sts as your ch 2 counts as first st of cluster,  *ch 2, cluster 
in center of next V-st,. and repeat from * around.
join. end pink.

* yo, insert into st, yo, pull up loop, yo, pull thru 2 loops, = repeat this 2 more
times to make cluster, yo, and pull thru all loops on hook__~.

Rnd 13: attach white yarn in center of cluster st , ch 1, sc same sp, * put 3 sc in
the ch-2 sp, 1 sc in 
center of cluster st, and repeat * around. join. end off.
weave in all ends securely.
