Rnd 2: ch 1, sc in next st, (hdc, dc in same sp) then hdc,sc in nxt st, - * sc, hdc, 1 dc in next st, then hdc, sc in next st, - repeat * around. Join. Rnd 3: sl st in 2nd st, ch 3, 5 dc in next st (this is what makes your point), dc in next st, * sk 2 sts, dc next st, 5 dc next st, dc next st, sk 2sts, - repeat * around. join. Rnd 4: sl st in 1st st, ch 3, * 1 dc next 2 sts, 5 dc next st, dc in ea of next 2 sts, sk next 2 sts, dc in ea of next 2 sts, 5 dc in next st, dc in ea of next 2 sts, sk 2 sts - * repeat this pattern around . join. Rnds 5-6: continue pattern - adding dc's before and after the 5 dc shell - around. join. Rnds 7-13: continue pattern - but putting 7 dc in each point around.join. Rnds 14-17: continue pattern around- putting 5 dc in eahc point around. join. Rnd 18: continue pattern - putting 7 dc in ea point around. join. *** I alternated the sts in the points to help keep the afghan from puckering or ruffling too much. so it needs the 5 dc shells and 7 dc shells alternated on various rows thru out the pattern. Rnd 19-24: continue pattern- putting 5 dc in ea point around. join. Rnd 25: finishing rnd. sc in ea st around, keeping with pattern and sk 2 sts in valleys and putting 3 sc's in ea point around. end off. Optional: change colors every few rows for a multi color effect.
