Rosette X-Stitch Cap{Lyn's Designs}
(Fits 0-3 Months approx.13-14" head)
Materials:
F hook
2 oz. Baby Pompadour Sport Yarn
3 small rosettes
 
Ch 4, sl st to form a ring.
 
Rnd 1:  ch 3, 13 dc into the ring. sl st to join.

Rnd 2: ch 3, 2 dc in each st around. sl st to join.

Rnd 3: ch 3, 1 dc in same sp, * 1 dc in next 2 sts, 2 dc in next st. 
repeat from * around.  join.

Rnd 4: ch 3, 1 dc in same sp, * 1 dc in next 4 sts, 2 dc in next st, 
repeat from * around.   join.

Rnd 5: ch 3, 1 dc in same sp, * 1 dc in next 6 sts, 2 dc in next st, 
repeat from * around. join. (end with 1 dc in last 3 sts).

Rnd 6: ch 3, * X-st in each st around.  join.

Rnd 7: ch 3, 1 dc in each st around.  join.

Rnd 8: ch 3, * X-st st , around.  join.

Rnd 9: ch 3, * 1 dc in each around. join.

Rnd 10: ch 3, * X-st  around, join.

Rnd 11:  ch 3, * 1 dc in ea st around.  join.

Rnd 12: ch 2, 1 1 hdc around, in back loops, this row only.  join.

Rnd 13: ch 2, 1 hdc in each st around.  join.

Rnd 14: ch 1, 1 sc in each st around. join.
end off, weave in ends.
 
Ruffle:  attach yarn in the free loops on rnd 12, * ch 3, sc in next 
st, ch 3,  ...repeat from * around. join.  end off.
 
On front of cap (row 13) sew 3 small rosettes to cap.
Optional. Sew rosette to top of cap also.
