(Newborn size)
Materials:
F hook
1 oz. 4 ply yarn  
 
Chain 4- join with a sl st to form a ring. 
1.  ch 2-  15 dc into ring. sl st to join.
2.  ch 2 - 2 dc in each st around.  sl st to join.
3.  ch 2, * 1 dc in next 2 sts, 2 dc in next st,  repeat from *
around.    sl st to join.
4-8. ch 2, 1 dc in each st around. sl st to join.

(Rib edging)
row 9-12-- ch 2, * front post dc around next st, back post dc 
around next st, from * around . sl st to  join.  end off.
