Patriotic Heart Ornament{Lyn's Designs}
Materials:
F Hook
1 oz.  sport yarn ( or in desired colors)
small amount of contrasting color
cotton stuffing/quilt batting
Satin Ribbon ( or key ring)
Rosette/bow
 
Make 2 sides  (make 2nd side opposite colors of 1st side)

~for the center of the heart~
Row 1:  ch 8, hdc in 2nd ch from hook, and in each st across. Turn. (7).
Rows 2-5:  ch 2, 1 hdc in each st across. turn.
 
~for 1st top of heart~ (may change to new color) 
Row 6: ch 1, sc in same sp, sk 2, 9 trc in next st (shell made), sk 2 sts, sl st in corner. 
 
~for 2nd top of heart~         (may change to new color here)  
working along next side, sk 2, 9 trc in next st (shell made), sk 2, sl st in last corner.  
end off.
 
Using contrasting color: attach yarn in any st, sc around thru both pieces, 
putting 2 sc in a  few sts  around the curves, to help with the turning.
 
stuff lightly before closing ,   sl st to join.
 
Ribbon:  attach satin ribbon at top center, desired length depending on its 
intended use.  (may also use a crocheted chain as a hanger).
sew Rosette/Bow  to front  center of heart.

there are many other ideas and uses, let your imagination run wild.~~
