Ladies V-Stitch Cap{Lyn's Designs}(Fits approx. 22" head)
Materials:
G Hook
3  oz. 4 ply WW  Yarn 

Ch 4, sl st to form a ring.

Row 1:   ch 2, 14 hdc into the ring. sl st to join.  ( 15 sts).
Row 2:  ch 2, 1 hdc in same sp,  2 hdc in each st around,  sl st to 
join.(30 sts).
Row 3:  ch 2, 1 hdc in same sp, * 1 hdc in each of next 2 sts, 2 hdc 
in next st,  repeat * around.   sl st to join.
Row 4:  ch 2,  1 hdc in each st around,   sl st to join.
Row 5:  ch 2, * 1 hdc in next 5 sts, 2 hdc in next st, ending with hdc 
in remaining sts.  sl st to join.
 
~Note~
(the increase rows will not always have even sts, the increases are 
just to help with the curve of the crown. but may not always have even 
amount of sts towards the end).
 
Row 6:  ch 2, * 1 hdc in next 7 sts, 2 hdc in next st, repeat * 
around. sl st to join.
Row 7:   ch 2, * 1 hdc in next 10 sts, 2 hdc in next st, repeat * 
around. sl st to join.
Row 8:  ch 2, * 1 hdc in next 14 sts, 2 hdc in next st, repeat * 
around. sl st to join.
Row 9 : ch 2, * 1 hdc in next 18 sts, 2 hdc in next st, repeat * 
around.  sl st to join.
Row 10: ch 2,  1 hdc in each st around.  sl st to join.

Pattern row:
Row 11:  ch 3,  1 dc in same sp,  * sk 2 sts, V-st in next st, repeat 
from * around. join.
Row 12-13:  ch 3, 1 dc in same sp, * V-st into center of each V-st 
around.  sl st to join. 
Row 14:  ch 2, 1 hdc in each st around (but not the ch in V-sts). 
sl st to join.
Row 15-16:  ch 2, * 1 hdc in each st around. join.
End off. weave in ends.
 
**(Note)**
V-st :    a v-st is 1 dc-ch1-1dc all in same stitch.
 
 
*Variation*
Change colors on row 11-13, V-st rows for a dramatic effect.
