Hat Pot Top{Lyn's Designs}
Materials:
1 oz. 4 ply yarn (main color)
small amount 4 ply (contrast color)
F hook
1 elastic hairband
small bow (optional)
 
with Main color ;    Ch 4, sl st to form a ring.
 
1.   ch 3, 12 dc into the ring. join.
2.  ch 3, 1 dc in same stitch as ch3, * 2 dc in each stitch around. join.
 
3-5.   Ch 3, 1 dc in each stitch around. join.
 
6. slip elastic band over the hook and yarn and up to the 5th round.
    ch 1, sc in each stitch around, OVER the elastic band.  join.
7. ch 3, using the front loops only, 1 dc in same space as ch 3, then 
    put 2 dc in each stitch around. join.
8.  ch 3, 1 dc in same space as ch 3, * 1 dc in each of next 2 stitches,
     2 dc in next stitch, * around. join.
 
9.  attach contrast color;  * ch 3,   sk 1 stitch,   sc in next stitch,  
repeat from * around. join. {ruffle Trim made}.
end off. weave in ends. 
 
OPTIONAL Tie:
ch 35,  end off.  weave in at rnd 5, and tie  loosely around the band to 
allow for stretching, tie in bow.
or sew on a decorative bow to front of hat.
