Eyelet Shell Angel Top{Lyn's Designs}
{Preemie size. 3-5 lb}

Materials:
2-½ oz. Baby sport yarn  
F Hook
3 small buttons
rosette
...............................  
1.  {Open Back}  ch 39 , 1 hdc in 3rd ch from hook, 
     1 hdc in next 4 sts,  3 hdc in next st (1st corner),
     1 hdc in next 6 sts,  3 hdc in next st (2nd corner),
     1 hdc in next 10 sts, 3 hdc in next st (3rd corner),
     1 hdc in next 6 sts,  3 hdc in next st (4th corner),
     1 hdc in next 6 sts,  to end.
 
2. (Bodice)  ch 2, turn.
    1 hdc in each st across, putting 3 hdc in center st of each corner, around. 

3-4.    repeat row 2.
 
5.  (arm holes)  ch 2, turn.
    1 hdc  in each st to first corner, *  ch 10, sk st between 1st corner 
and 2nd corner, 1 hdc in center st of 2nd corner, and 1 hdc in each 
st across to 3rd corner, repeat at * for 2nd armhole,  1 hdc in each st to end.
 
6. ch 2, turn.  1 hdc in each st across.
 
7. (Skirt)     ch 3, turn.
    * sk 1 st, eyelet shell in next st, repeat from * across, end with 1 dc 
in last st.
 
** Eyelet stitch- (1 dc-ch1-1dc-ch1-1dc) all in same st.
 
8. ch 3, turn. *  eyelet shell in center of previous shell, repeat across, 
end with 1 dc in last st.
 
9-13. repeat row 8.
 
now work up the back side, ch 1, sc in ea st up the skirt to bodice, on 
row 6 of bodice, ch 3 (button loop), sc in next st, sc up and make another
button loop on row 4, and then sc up and make another button loop on row 1.
then sc around neckline, and down other side to hem,. end off.
 
decorate front with rosette, appliques, bows. etc.
 
~Sleeves~
1. attach under arm in center st., ch 3, 1 dc-ch1-1dc in same sp, 
sk 2, * eyelet shell in next st, repeat * around. join.  (7 shells).
 
2. sl st to center of next shell, ch 3, 1 dc-ch1-1dc in same sp,  * eyelet 
shell in center of nxt shell, repeat from * around. join.
 
3. repeat row 2.  end off.
 
weave in ends,   sew on buttons and sew on embellishments.
 
{for a solid sleeve}  
1. attach yarn under arm, ch 2, 1 dc in each st around, join.
2. ch 2, *  1 dc in next 2 st, dec over next 2 sts,  * around.
3. ch 2, 1 dc in each st around. join. end off.
 
~Matching Baby Cap~  (Rib edge cap)
Chain 4- join with a sl st to form a ring. 
1.  ch 2-  15 dc into ring. sl st to join.
2.  ch 2 - 2 dc in each st around.  sl st to join.
3.  ch 2, * 1 dc in next 2 sts, 2 dc in next st,  repeat from *
around.    sl st to join.
4-8. ch 2, 1 dc in each st around. sl st to join.
row 9-12-- ch 2, * front post dc around next st, back post dc around 
next st, from * around . sl st to  join.  end off.
