Hello, and welcome to my page. My friends call me Spirit. They say I look just like the stallion in the movie. I am a half miniature and half quarter horse pony. Here's my story.
I was born May 5th, of 2003 at about 7:30pm. That's what everyone says anyway. I was let out in a pasture with another larger mare Tuesday May 6th. She kicked me and broke my leg. It was an accident but it still hurt none-the-less. The doctor told my mommy that there was little hope without surgery. The surgery would cost $3,000 - $5,000. After long consideration she opted to have a cast put on my leg though the doctor was against it. Everyone was so nice to me and I was such a good boy at the doctors office. I hope, I hope I do get better. I have to go back to the doctor in about four weeks to see if I'm healing at all. The only other option the doctor gave was euthenization, whatever that is. All I know is my mommy wasn't happy to hear it.

I went to the doctor today for my first check up to make sure everything was still alright. She says I'm doing very well. She's even given me a little more hope. There's no rubbing nor festering from the cast. I've gained 13 pounds since last time. I weigh a whopping 48.3 pounds now. I have a good outlook on life. I've even learned how to buck and kick with just three legs. Oh I do hope I'll get to use my leg again someday soon. I have to go back in a week for another check up... and pictures!! The doctor still wants me back in about three weeks for x-rays. My mommy says I'm getting too big to ride in the front seat of the car. Her friend says that we'll have to ride in the bed of the truck soon if I keep growing.

Oops, haven't been on the ball lately. I've been back to see the doctor twice since my last update. I'm up to nearly 61 pounds now. I'm also still doing good; No sores! I go back next Tuesday for x-rays to see if I'm healing at all. They say I'm gonna get to spend the entire day with the doctor. Wish me luck :D.

Oh man!! It's been nearly forever since I've given y'all any updates. I'm so sorry. Well, all is well. The doctor lady says that my bones are forming callous and that's good. She says that if I keep up the way I'm going we just might pull through this. I'm so happy. I gotta go back to the doctors tomorrow for another checkup. It's been hard on my mommy trying to keep my cast clean and dry but she's been trying her best. I'm still a "little shit". That's what my mommy says. I don't know why they say I'm not supposed to play. I just can't help myself. I'm just so full of energy all the time and being cooped up is no fun at all. I take every chance I can get to kick up my heals and have a lil fun. Well, I will try to be a bit more current with my updates. I'm not making any promises though. :D.

Told you I wasn't making any promises. I've been really busy lately with playing and all. Time just got away from me. Guess the old addage is true, "time doe fly when you're having fun."
I had my cast cut off yesterday. It feels really weird without it. It's gonna take me some time to get used to my new leg. It has a lot of catching up to do as far as tendon and ligiment development, but I'm doing fine.
