Seven-year-old Chloe Greenfield spent much of the "8 Mile" cast and crew preview screening she attended recently with her face hidden in her hands. When an objectionable scene in the R-rated movie came up, Chloe would get a squeeze on her hand as a signal to duck and cover. Then there was the embarrassment of seeing herself on the big screen. "I look about 5," she says. Granted, Chloe has grown a couple of inches since she played the role of Lily, sister to star Eminem's character Jimmy, a.k.a. Rabbit, in the drama that opens Friday. Today she's a button-cute second-grader, her blond hair tucked beneath a black stocking cap with "Detroit" stitched on the front. She's the same age as Hailie, the real-life daughter of Marshall Mathers III -- the real-life name of Eminem. After school last week in her Southfield home, Chloe pulled herself away from a TV cartoon long enough to talk about the casting call she and her cousins attended early last year. Universal Pictures was looking for a ragamuffin little girl for what was then called "The Untitled Detroit Project." "She asked me to tell a story and then to fake-cry," Chloe says of her encounter with casting director Mali Finn. Chloe spent three months last fall and winter filming in the Warren-based trailer park where she and movie mom (Kim Basinger) lived in the film. She says Basinger, who has a young daughter of her own, was really friendly and often would bring a present for Chloe to the set.She had a similarly warm relationship with Eminem, who invited Chloe to have a sleepover with Hailie in his Macomb County home shortly before filming began. Chloe was impressed by a basement stocked with video games and an indoor pool and hot tub. "We ate two bags of Funyuns and we drank root beer, and then when he was reading us stories, I ended up throwing up on his bed," she says. Greenfield says she offered to pay for the cleaning but Eminem shrugged it off, saying it was all part of being a dad. "He told me not to worry about it," Chloe remembers. "He said, 'Hailie does this all the time.' "
