NETXQRP May 2001 Meeting

Another meeting in the books! Although this reporter wasn't present, it is understood that, as usual, a good time was had by all. We gained one new member in Dave Redfern, N4ELM, from McKinney, TX. A big WELCOME to Dave! Dave entertained the crowd with a very nice demonstration of PSK-31, one of the hottest new modes on the bands these days.

Barbara, KK5QA, cooked up some very nice badges to present to the club members. (See pictures below). Thanks, Barb!.

Other activities were the door prize drawing, which is always full of good stuff, and some gear even changed hands when Rich, N5JI, sold his K1 to Dave, N4ELM. Nice catch, Dave, it's one sweet little rig.

So that's about it until next month! See y'all there!!

A total of eleven members were present. That a new record folks!!

Here's the May crowd (missing Dwain, K0LOA, appearently on the other side of the camera.)

George-W5YR, Barbara-KK5QA, Joe-KK5NA, James-KC5DSP, Rich-N5JI,
Bill-K5JHP, Chuck-W5USJ, Mike-KD5KXF, and Dave-N4ELM.

Here's our two newest members, Mike, KC5DXF, and Dave, N4ELM

Here's a shot of the door loot table and George, "The Yellow Rose", trying to auction off what appears to be a hockey puck during the door prize drawing. The puck was one of several hundred thousand that had "DALLAS STARS, 2001 STANLEY CUP CHAMPS" on them that George had made just prior to the playoffs!
While James, KC5DSP, walks with his prize and Chuck, W5USJ, steals the UPS behind their back!

Here's Joe, KK5NA's, K2 with the neat little TE NE KE attached to the flip stand. Neat idea Joe!
And Rich, N5JI's, K1 with the "FOR SALE" sign.

Dave's PSK-31 demo was a big hit and got everyone's rapt attention!

And here's the entire PSK-31 setup with close-ups of the computer interface and 80m Warbler!

Here's a close-up of the QRP ARCI patch on Bill, K5JHP's cap. Very nice patch!

Here's a close-up of our new Club Badge, thanks to Barbara, KK5QA. Nice job!

And that wraps up another great meeting. We'd love to have you visit anytime you're in the area. The front page of our website, www.netxqrp.org always has the latest information on our meetings. Please stop by!
