March 2001 Meeting

Faith and begora!! We had another great meeting/feed on St. Patricks Day.
We gained two new members in Joe and Barbara Spencer, KK5NA and KK5QA respectively. A big WELCOME to them!!

Joe and Barbara are long time QRPer's and are active in the North Texas QRP Club (NORTEX) and QRP ARCI.

All together we had nine attendees:

The March NETXQRP Crew (missing Dwain, K0LOA who was behind the camera as usual)
L to R: Bill (K5JHP), Andy (W5VCJ), Don (K5DW) missing head, George (W5YR), Chuck (W5USJ),
Barbara (KK5QA), Joe (KK5NA) and Rich (N5JI)

The door prize drawings are becoming quite an event! Here we see the prize table with a toroid balun kit, various connectors, a couple of mystery prizes and a ....humidifier?? Don't let the box fool you though, it turned out to be an O'scope!! There were enough prizes for everyone!

The prize table with all sorts of booty!

Chuck, W5USJ, brought his new AADE LCIIB inductance/capacitance meter for show and tell.

Chuck also brought his new Power Station.
Appearently menu operated, with or without salsa!

George, W5YR, was presented with the coveted "Comodus Operatus" award on behalf of the club and the Tornados Fox Hunt Team. George courageously operated a Fox Hunt with the beastly call of nature barking at his door due to preparation for a medical procedure the following day. His courage and dedication led the team (and also George!) to a "clean sweep"!!

Don, K5DW presenting the award to George.

The coveted Award!

And that wraps up another great meeting. We'd love to have you visit anytime you're in the area. The front page of our website, www.netxqrp.org, always has the latest information on our meetings. Please stop by!
