February 2001 Meeting

February marks our sixth month anniversary as a club. Time flies when you're having fun! And we had another great meeting in February. We were delighted to have Ken, KE5ED and his charming wife Judy join us as guests. All together we had nine members:

Here's most of the February NETXQRP Crew (missing Dwain, KØLOA - our fearless photographer)

The show-stealer for February was KØLOA's Index Labs QRPPlus Xcvr and Tuner.
Very nice, Dwain!!

Rich, N5JI, takes the QRPPlus for a test drive while Dwain, KØLOA, lays back and
let's lunch settle in. The little white box on the table is an OHR DD1 digital display unit.

Andy, W5VCJ, and Don, K5DW, take a closer look at the neat little DD1.

Oh no, not another SMK-1!! Yep, Don, K5DW, just had to show off his version of the little SMK-1.
If it looks familiar, he copied Lew, N5ZE's, version and put it in a Context Engineering box.
Looks like room left over for a battery and/or keyer, etc.

James, KC5DSP, and Ken, KE5ED plot against the rest of us with help from Ken's wife, Judy.
Probably talking about County Hunting or some-such QRO nonsense! ;^)

Rich, N5JI, practices his slight-of-hand on Andy, W5VCJ,
not doubt trying to make the QRPPlus disappear into his pocket.
While Bill, K5JHP, tries to catch the dastardly deed on camera.

George, W5YR, enjoys one of the fabulous deserts of John Y Miguel's.
As you can guess, it aroused much envy among the more cholesterol challenged of us!

Chuck, W5USJ, gets last draw in the prize drawing and ends up with this.
Now let's see...how many TT2s can I get into this thing?

The variety of door prizes just keeps getting better and better!
Too bad the AEA Analyzer wasn't part of the loot!

And that wraps up another great meeting. We'd love to have you visit anytime you're in the area. The front page of our website, www.netxqrp.org, always has the latest information on our meetings. Please stop by!
