Hi! My name is Sheila. I hope you enjoy this site. I live near Texarkana, Texas/Arkansas. Texarkana is on the state line between Texas and Arkansas. The Texas side is in Bowie County and the Arkansas side is in Miller County. Both county courthouses are within a short driving distance. I have conducted oral histories and research for the Texarkana Historical Museum.

One of my family names I am researching is Middleton. My father was James Washington Lee Middleton, Jr. He served in the Navy during WWII on the USS Valley Forge. I have a Washington and Robert Middleton in my ancestry. Washington Middleton fought for the South in the Civil War. He had 3 wives one of which was Native American. I have also discovered that my g-grandmother Winnie Johnson was 1/2 Native American. Her parents were William Meredith Johnson and Elizabeth Barton. Any cousins out there?

Psalm 100

Make a joyful noise unto the LORD, all ye lands. Serve the LORD with gladness: come before his presence with singing. Know ye that the LORD he is God: it is he that hath made us, and not we ourselves; we are his people, and the sheep of his pasture. Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise: be thankful unto him, and bless his name. For the LORD is good; his mercy is everlasting; and his truth endureth to all generations.
