1 Cor. 14 26-33
26
How is it then, brethren? when ye come together, every one of you hath a
psalm, hath a doctrine, hath a tongue, hath a revelation, hath an interpretation.
Let all things be done unto edifying.
27 If any man speak in an [unknown] tongue, [let it be] by two, or
at the most [by] three, and [that] by course; and let one interpret. {two...:
by two or three sentences separately}
28 But if there be no interpreter, let him keep silence in the church; and let him speak to himself, and to God.
29 Let the prophets speak two or three, and let the other judge.
30 If [any thing] be revealed to another that sitteth by, let the first hold his peace.
31 For ye may all prophesy one by one, that all may learn, and all may be comforted.
32 And the spirits of the prophets are subject to the prophets.
33 For God is not [the author] of confusion, but of peace, as in all churches of the saints.

Acts 14:21-23
21
And when they had preached the gospel to that city, and had taught many,
they returned again to Lystra, and [to] Iconium, and Antioch,
22
Confirming the souls of the disciples, [and] exhorting them to continue in
the faith, and that we must through much tribulation enter into the kingdom
of God.
23
And when they had ordained them elders in every church, and had prayed with
fasting, they commended them to the Lord, on whom they believed.

|
1 Cor. 14:2
2
For he that speaketh in an [unknown] tongue speaketh not unto men, but unto
God: for no man understandeth [him]; howbeit in the spirit he speaketh mysteries.
{understandeth: Gr. heareth} 3 But he that prophesieth speaketh
unto men [to] edification, and exhortation, and comfort.
|
Heb. 4:12
12
For the word of God [is] quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged
sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the
joints and marrow, and [is] a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the
heart.

Acts 13:1-3
1
Now there were in the church that was at Antioch certain prophets and teachers;
as Barnabas, and Simeon that was called Niger, and Lucius of Cyrene, and
Manaen, which had been brought up with Herod the tetrarch, and Saul. {which...:
or, Herod's foster brother}
2
As they ministered to the Lord, and fasted, the Holy Ghost said, Separate
me Barnabas and Saul for the work whereunto I have called them.
3 And when they had fasted and prayed, and laid [their] hands on them, they sent [them] away.
