Wuthering Heights Psychoanalysis

Sigmund Freud, one of the most respected and controversial psychological theorists in history, believed that the human mind was multi-layered and very complex. In Emily Bronte's victorian novel, Wuthering Heighs, she explores various psychoanalytic situations. She strengthens the plot, characters, and setting throughout the novel through situations such as projection of self on other's (living vicariously), past short comings magnified and transferred to others in the future, and basic other psychoanalytical staples such as the Oedipus Complex.
