Meet Michelle

Hi there,

My name is Michelle, but people know me as Uyen (Wynn).  I grew up using that name because it's really short and easy to pronounce.  Not that Michelle is difficult or anything, I just wanted to be different and unique. I can always anticipate a teacher is going to call my name when she pauses during roll call.  Uyen is just not an easy name to forget, once you see it.

Actually, my mother took a lot of time and thought into naming me, so I give her the respect to use it.  Uyen is named after an enchanting bird they called "chim Uyen" in Vietnam.  What great foreshadowing.  Michelle is my "legal" name.  My mom picked that name for me too.  They're both beautiful, so I use both of them.

This is my favorite picture. Every year, the roads and highways of Texas are filled with bluebonnets and wildflowers.  It's a beautiful sight!  I try to go on an annual road trip around late March or April to catch the beauty.  It's eases my mind of any worries or troubles when I see Earth's natural beauty flourishing in front of my eyes. My friend and I saw this shack on one of the country back roads, and its rustic look caught my attention.  It has an innocence to it.  I knew that I  had to take a picture.

School

I'm currently a senior at the Univesity of Houston.  My major is Business Administration concentrating in finance. Although Uof H is mainly an commuter school, I was fortunate to have the opportunity to live on campus.  The University is so amazingly diverse.  We have a sample of every country that exists in this world that goes to UH. I love it. I like meeting new and different people all the time. They give you different perspectives about life. It allow you to grow and mature holistocally.

Life on Campus

As I mentioned before, I live on campus at the UH Residence Halls.  I've been a Resident Assistant at UH for about three years now. Yes, I am an RA just like the show Felicity.  Although, I wish my life is as dramatic and exciting as hers. Nevertheless, it has its moments. You really get a better feel for college life living on campus.  It's a dynamic lifestyle with so much to do. The perks of living on campus in Houston is...no traffic jams, no parking problems, and most importantly, you can wake up 10 minutes before class and still make it on time.  Hallelujah.

I wish my room looks this clean.

Family

My family is the best thing in my life.  Their unconditional love is amazing.  My parents let us (the children) know that we are the most important thing in their life.  They show us the extent of their love in so many way . We are fortunate to have them in our lives.  My two little brothers are so much fun to hang around with.  Thai(Ti)is 16 yrs old attending Spring Woods High.  I'm so proud of him because he's one of the first students to get accepted into the Academy of Finance.  Like sister, like brother. As for my 14yrs old brother, Long (Bi)  he's the sweetest and most artistic person in our house next to my Dad.  He's a second degree black belt in Tae Kwon Do.  I think he can make it to the Olympics if he keeps it up. I have so much faith in them.  We all grew up together in a very family oriented household.  We love to take road trips, go camping, or chill around the house together.  My father is  the best cook.  My mother is so beautiful and loving.  My brothers are the bomb!  I love spending time with them. Check out the photos.
