Ethan's arrival

This is the story of Ethan. So far on Ethan's page you have seen a little on the area of my pregnancy. Ethan is what is called a subsequent baby or a healing baby. He is just my son. My beloved son, although lossing Becca did have a lot of impact on our decision to have another baby. Actually lossing her is the reason Ethan is here. We love him so much and I would not give him up for anything on Earth. Ok here is the story of Ethan from labor to today.

Labor
Labor with Ethan was the hardest for me just hours before he was born. I had been having contractions since 3 weeks prior to this time {january 17 2000 is the date of when the bad labor got started.} Although those contractions were regular and a little painful they got us no where. On January 17 2000, I was having contractions pretty bad. I felt bad, at 6:30 I took a luke warm bath to try to feel better. Again at 8 pm and 10 pm and once more at midnight I took athes to try to dull the pain. The contractions were fairly regular and painful now. My mom came to the bathroom door asking if I was ok and needed to go to the hospital. I said No I am ok just feel bad. I was on my hands and knees by 1 am in the living room trying to stop the hurting pains in my back. I went upstairs to wake Chris at 1:58 am I remember looking at his watch and thinking Oh I should let him sleep a little longer. Thank goodness I changed my mind. 2 am we are all up {Chris me my mom and calling my mother in law} At 2:45 I am finally ready and going to the car. It is an hours drive to my ob/gyn. The contractions are way to close to be able to breathe so I hold my breathe so not to alarm Chris into driving faster. He is going 70 miles an hour in the sleeting snowy cold weather. This deputy pulls us over 2 minutes from the hospital, Barney as I like to call him. Barney pulls us over and begins asking if I am really in labor, how far along am I, how far apart are the contraction. Yes I am in labor, 4 weeks and hell I dunno I can't even talk for them now! I'm sitting in the rain, putting up with Barney cailling an ambulance, It is so far away. We wait for 2 minutes for it to get to us. I get in and my family and hubby have to drive behind us. I am having contraction 1 minute apart. I get to the hospital and I am at 8 cm and the contractions are less than 45 seconds apart now. Well they put in the IV a doctor comes in {not mine he is not on duty}. She is sweet. She breaks my water as now I fully dialated. Almost 15 minutes to the T after entering the hospital I held my perfect son. He had some staining in his water but he turned out just great. Weighing 7 poundsa and 15 onzes he was born at 4:16 am on January 18 2000.
