"Cora Bennet Richardson Linson is my paternal Grandmother. Her father was Alexander Richardson, a medical doctor in Buffalo, TX. Her mother was Nancy Clark Richardson. Both her parents died in different influenza epidemics in the 1890s. The Richardson children who were still at home went to live with relatives, all but one lived with their Uncle, John Clark, at Dew, Texas. Emma Richardson went to live with her namesake, Aunt Emma Clark ???.
Cora (against her Uncle John's wishes, I was told by one of her sisters) married Laurin Queston Linson. He, and his father, Walter Thomas Linson, were killed in Buffalo, Texas on May 5, 1900. (I am attaching a copy of the article about that killing in the Buffalo, TX newspaper). Cora was pregnant with my father at the time. When my father was born, she named him Laurin Queston Linson, too.
After the death of her husband, she went back to Dew to Uncle John Clark's farm, where my father spent his childhood years. Her brother, Furney ("Buddy") Richardson, was Superintendent of schools, and hired her as a teacher.
After my father left Dew, she taught elsewhere, studied at Sam Houston State Teacher's College in Huntsvill, where she received her Bachelor's degree.She had a long career as a teacher and administrator -- if memory serves, she was at one time Superintendent of Schools (I think, in the Goose Creek School District, now part of Baytown) and may have been the first female Superintendent in Texas (though my memory on this issue is not clear and I have no citation).
My father went first to Austin where he studied for a year, then to Tyler where he studied at Tyler Commercial College, and worked for the Missouri, Kansas, and Texas Railroad (the Katy), and later to Palestine, TX where he worked for the International and Great Northern Railroad, which was later the International and Great Northern Division of Missouri Pacific Lines, and lived the rest of his life.
In her later years, she moved to Fairfield, TX to live with her sister, Emma Richardson Hill, widow of Fred Hill, and taught at Fairfield High School.
I have a bit more information and detail, but it is buried in some files, and would have to be found as part of a major uncluttering and file cleanup.".
