The Waco Tribune-Herald is an American daily newspaper serving Waco, Texas and vicinity.

The newspaper has its roots in five predecessors, beginning with the Waco Evening Telephone in 1892. The Tribune-Herald took its current identity when E.S. Fentress and Charles Marsh, who owned the Waco News-Tribune, bought the Waco Times-Herald. That purchase was the beginning of Newspapers, Inc., a chain which eventually owned 13 newspapers. Founded 1892 (as the Waco Evening Telephone).
"Clyde Ray "C.R." Sawyer, 63, of Lott, Texas, entered into rest Wednesday, Aug. 25, 2010. No formal services will be held, however the family will receive friends 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 28, at Adams Funeral Home in Marlin. Viewing of Mr. Sawyer will begin after 11 a.m. Saturday. At his request, he will be cremated.C.R. was born in Fairfield, Texas, to the late Clyde Sawyer Sr. and Daisy Sterling Sawyer. He retired from Falls County Road and Bridge Department where he served as a truck driver. He was a cowboy at heart and worked for several ranches in the Central Texas area. He loved to hunt hogs, and deer, and to fish. C.R. was widely known as a smart and crafty horse trader. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and a Baptist.Survivors include his wife, Rosemary Sawyer, of Lott; daughters, Tammy Rochell, of Marlin, Trail Ayala, of Lott, Pam Aldama, Faye Alonzo, Kaye Martin, and Becky Ward, all of Corsicana; 14 grandchildren; great-grandchildren; and sister, Susie Henderson, also of Corsicana."
