"Gerald Lynn DeBorde, 62, of Dickinson, Texas made his ascension to heaven Monday, September 14, 2009 at 6:50 A.M. in Webster, Texas. He was born June 13, 1947 in Texas City, Texas to G.L. and Dott (Gehrels) DeBorde. Gerald ran his own construction company for many years and then went back to school to help his clients prepare for their financial future. He loved his family very much. He was so proud of his three beautiful grandchildren and the baby boy on the way. He was an avid golfer and always loved to tinker with his swing. He also loved classic cars. He could fix anything if you could get him away from the Texans and the Golf channel. He was also an amazing artist. He was married to Linda for 43 years and they dated for 4 years before that. This means they met when they were 15. She learned to play golf to spend time with him and he went to "chick flicks" for her. They were true soul mates. He would do anything for anybody - all you had to do was ask. He always said his Dad would give you the shirt off of his back. He always hoped he would be remembered as the same kind of person. He will be. He is preceded in death by his father, G.L. DeBorde. Gerald is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Linda (Tisdale) DeBorde of Dickinson, Texas; mother, Dott (Gehrels) DeBorde of San Antonio, Texas; sons, Sean DeBorde and wife Natalie of San Antonio, Texas and Geremey DeBorde and wife Amber of San Antonio, Texas; and grandchildren, Ashley, Delaney, Alexandra and Garrett DeBorde of San Antonio, Texas. He will be greatly missed by all of his family and friends. The visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 16, 2009 from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at Jeter Memorial Funeral Home, 311 N. Friendswood Drive, Friendswood, Texas 77546, (281) 992-7200. The funeral service will be held Thursday, September 17, 2009 at 11:00 A.M. at Friendswood Friends Church, 502 S. Friendswood Drive, Friendswood, Texas 77546.
